will this insulation upgrade cause a problem with exterior gypsum sheathing
location Z2 Houston TX
Existing wall sheatrock, 2×4 studs, 2″ rockwool, gypsum sheathing, siding [ top half horizontal 1x4s and vert t&g siding — bottom half 1″ gap and brick with no weep holes ]
After air sealing wall
New wall sheatrock, 1×3 studs over 1×4 stud creating 6″ cavity filled with either dense pack cellulose or rockwool or flash and bat 1″ closed cell spf then 5″ one of the 3 above choices of ins
At a later date I may replace the exterior sheathing and add wrb and exterior ins and new siding
opinions and suggestions welcome
PS: this wall is very airtight from all the paint on the wall and brick [no issue from solar drive through bricks ] it has no mold on gyprock after 70 years
