I am a full service contractor who is starting to specialize in the window/door repair business. I just recently became a sub-contractor for a major manufacturer of windows/doors and will do warranty and non-warranty work for them in an exclusive area. For the non-warranty work I can set my own prices, but I’d like to get feedback from others in the same field. I’d like to set specific prices for each service. Labor price to replace top sash, labor price to replace bottom sash, price to replace direct set glass (up to ? sq. ft. then $$ much per sq. ft.), price to replace balance, slider or hinged door panel. I don’t want to leave too much on the table, figuring an hourly rate,………there is worth in knowledge. Is there anyone in this forum, who’s in the same business, who’d like to help a brother out?
Thanks!
John

If it's priced like other warranty work, take their warranty repair fee schedule (what they pay you for X repair at a flat rate), and double or triple it. i.e. if their schedule specifies they pay a flat $50 for sash repair, then out of warranty -- your charge direct to a HO -- should be $100 (or $150). They are taking a BIG discount, since they give you lots of leads (hopefully).
