The side window trim on my 22 year old home is decaying where it contacts the sill. The deay in most is a problem for about 6 to 8 inches up the trim board. The trim is pine, the house has low overhang with white cedar shakes, a colonial reproduction. “What is the best way to fix the problem – 1. Remove the trim boards, cut off the bad section and attach with a small piece and reinstall upper good part. 2. Replace entire board? 3. Is there some type of epoxy that can be used instead of replacement of boards ? Any other ideas – Not all widnows have the problem but enough to create a time sonsuming job.
