I need an update on whole house ventilation. In 1995 I had a remodel and the plans called for window vents and time on an exhaust fan. I went with a fresh air supply fan to the furnace plenum instead. l later I removed the supply fan.
What is the current method for whole house ventilation?
(I am in Washington State and we are on the IBC, not sure which version)

The best system to use is an HRV (heat recovery ventilator) or and ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator). It depends upon environment, but for colder climates HRV is better, for warm ERV. A HVAC contractor should be able to guide you with best approach.
