Windows on lakefront house, best option
Novice builder looking to build a umder 1500 sq ft lakefront house (for my family). The lot will be 100 feet wide so I can face the gable end eother way (broad face or gable facing the lake).
I’m a bit concerned about cost of wimdow package if I face the gable to the lake, (also would have to do a ridge beam). Using those pics I attached does anyone have a ballpark on what window units like that cost ?
Also has anyone else been in this circumstance, what design worked best for you ?

As you contemplate this, think about how you expect to use the property.
How much will you sit inside and admire the view, vs being out in it.
Consider how the sunshine will interact with large windows, and consider the orientation. Will the afternoon sun make the space inside too hot?
How and who will clean those windows?
Will you have air conditioning? Will you want lots of screens and open windows to let the breeze cool the house?
Will this be a two or three season place, or will you use it in the winter too?
Very good points about too much sun, My wife loves the idea of all of these windows but I'm trying to do this on the cheap. After posting this I started looking at window prices and saw windows were around $600 for units I used to pay $200 for. I'm thinking I may be better to do something like this below-
