I just ordered a pile of Windsor One 1x and 5/4. My painter says that on the last few jobs he’s done the quality is down. Are there any viable alternatives?

That is interesting.
Princeton products primelock is the only other I know of and theirs is not nearly the quality Windsor has, IMO

Are you sure it was really Windsor One?
My yard used to carry another FJ primed pine. It was cheaper, but the Windsor One is a much nicer product.
They carried both for a while, but now only stock Windsor One.
That was my first thought.
Got the Windsor One today. I took a quick glance and it looked fine. I think the painter's been huffing too many fumes.
The other primed finger jointed products aren't even in the same ballpark as Windsor One. The price for this order was slightly less than for plain poplar, which is what I usually use. This will be my first big job (3200 sf house) with Windsor One. Looking forward to it.
