What place is selling these pallet prices?
Bill
Home Depot in Sandusky Ohio. That is where I work.
if you were interested this deal ends Friday. But they run similar deals all the time
Thanks for the Heads-up.
I was at the local Goodyear Tire store to have a somebody's roofing nail pulled out of my back tire. I ask the owner how business was going and he said that so far it's been good.... He said that nobody is buying new cars, so they are keeping what they've got, plus, tire prices had "Dropped way, way down."
I guess copper and electrical wire are following the economy, too.
Thanks again,
Bill
No problem. So do you consider these prices good? I am genuinely curious as the Depot is always touting these as the greatest deals ever. We at my store have not sold a one yet..... in three years that I know of.
So do you consider these prices good?
In view of the last few years, it is a good price...but the facts like individual pulls and large bulk bottom line costs, makes it not only not a bargain, but with the housing bust, who's going to use high amounts of it. I'd hold for lower and better bargains on Romex or direct burial cable.
In the last 3 months, I've purchased three new rolls of strand single pulls of #12 for $15 or less a reel... and found flexible conduit Armor Shield with two #12 plus ground in rolls of 120+ feet for under $30... Copper has gone down and flea markets or garage sales are places of good buys for my needs.
The kind and the bulk, maybe that's why there's not many takers,
Bill
Pretty much thats what I have been hearing. At my store they have tried to talk guys into parterning up but as I said before thats been a no go as well. I do appreciate the feedback.
I can't comment specifically on those prices. But I am not rushing out buying shares in any Copper Mines. (Well, I am looking because this might be as low as it gets) Copper prices have tanked. I was reading a report printed in mid December, 2008 referring to copper prices tanking from around $4 US per lb mid 2008 to around $1.43 US per lb at mid December, 2008. As many of you realize by now, the economy has gotten worse and not better since that time.
All the big Copper Mining Companies are in big trouble for different reasons.
I don't think anyone is forecasting big improvements in copper prices in the near term. This is just speculation on my part. I suspect Home Depot and others are trying to get whatever they can. Wire prices are dropping slowly because they purchased wire at considerably higher prices.
You can also speculate on the impact of all the economic stimulus packages both in the US and China.
I believe there is a lot of truth in the points you make. However, we have been doing these bid room wire deals for about a year and a half so I don't think that the current economic state is totally the reason for the price breaks.
