Hi all. New on here but have subscribed for years…my question is this. I have a 1926 Tudor with a great front door. Problem is that it needs to be replaced and I would like to build a new one. It is and arched topped door with a large circular leaded window. I read with interest the article in FHB on making a sandwiched door and feel this is probably the way to go. Any suggestions on what species of wood is best for this exterior door. what holds up best. what to treat it with. any help would be great.
