I would like to have some feedback for a suitable material to use for a tongue & groove flooring for a covered porch floor to be weathered or treated to a soft gray finish. This is in central Ky. were the weather is unpredictable and usually quite humid. I thought about a cypress, but think with the fluctuations in temperature and humidity it would move to much. Thought of some of the South American woods, such as mahogany or Spanish cedar, but think these would be to hard to blind nail. I don’t think the pine or fir that we usually use when we paint, would be suitable to use unpainted.
Has anyone used anything for this use that has produced quality results; or have any other suggestions.
