   I usually run the flooring with the length of the room, however, I always try to run perpendicular to a 1"x6" subfloor if that applies.

   There are valid reasons for running either way.

   First generaal rule is to run it with the incoming light from outside.

   Then there are plenty of reasons for breaking that rule.

   Excellence is its own reward!
