Wood flooring over wood flooring

Is there any problem with nailing 3/4″ x 2-3/4″ oak strip flooring over the same? The 1×8 subfloor is nailed perpendicular to the floor joists instead of diagnally, and it would save a lot of work if I could just install the new oak floor on top of the old one.

Nice handle...hehe. Not being there to see the jobsite in person makes it difficult to asses the situation. However, the answer to your question is yes, but the new will have to be installed opposite the old, or one can add another subfloor if you desire the same direction.
