I am cosidering buying a wood furnace by valley comfort, for my shop.
My work space is about 3500 sq. ft. where I build custom furniture and kitchen cabinets. Does anybody else use this type of heat. I am not talking about a wood stove.

I have used a wood oil Newmac hot air for the last 15 years. It has been great. I am in the process of building a major addition which is going to be radiant, so I am probably going the switch everything to a Tarm wood oil boiler. If you have wood, the furnaces are great.
I assume you're talking about a wood-fired furnace connected to a forced-air network (not an outside wood-fired boiler).
A neighbour of mine has had one heating his house for about seven years and loves it. It has a theromostatically controlled air intake which controls the burn. It works very well.
If I were you I'd also consider pellet furnaces or stoves.
Scott.
