Hey All,
I have this horrible old metal lamp post outside my house that I’m looking to replace with something much better. I was thinking about making a square wood lamp post for my light but was looking for ideas. Has anyone done this, do you have photos. Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David

All I know is that if you laminate the post from 2 pieces, you can rout out the space for the wire/conduit instead of trying to drill through the post. If this is too obvious, forgive me.
Menards has a very nice cedar lamp post - solid cedar with a hole for the wiring. It has some "turning" on the top part, which my husband didn't like, but it's under $60. I think it's a pretty good buy, considering it's solid and doesn't take any extra work to complete. Menards is like a "Home Depot" type store in the midwest - if you're interested I can find out how you could get one.
