I’m renovating a 50-year old home with a beautiful screen porch that has original pressure-treated pine on the interior of the screened porch. Some is structural and some is trim. It’s structurally sound but looks every bit of 50 years old. I’d like to replace it with something “modern” but strong and weather-resistant. I don’t know if this is some sort of exotic or maybe a new manufactured product? Don’t want to break the bank.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

cedar is nice for domestic or you can find some imported species used for exterior..Can the pine be refinished?
Agree cedar is nice but I'd have to see an application that doesn't look too rustic. I'm going for more of a modern look.
The pine is pretty rough - painted and pitted and generally worn out. I considered casing it in some sort of veneer but concluded the labor would be prohibitive with that option.
Thanks.
