Work Horse

| Posted in Photo Gallery on July 12, 2004 07:41am

Here is how I spent my Sunday evening. I was using the first one I made while working on my kayak. Got thinking about a trim job I have coming up and figured would be great to have one for the job.  It is great to keep track of tools and keep every thing organized.  I may have gone a bit over board but it was fun.

I figured this would be a good excuse to test my posting of photos skills. Hope it works. I tryed that irfanView program.

I think you want to reprocess those pictures into JPGs at about 1/10th their current size.

I really like that, might have to make a pair myself.

HINT...with Irfanview, set the SIZE at 640x480 in the right hand pane top..your post was shrunk a little TOO much..when I blew it up to 640x480 it lost it's clarity

also keep the aspect ratio tha same as original, and the right side pane has something about speed/quality..choose best quality

Yup... In the save as under file....

open the BMP and then go to save as - give it a new name and  then change file type as JPG/JPEG

            Beat me to it.

Can't hurt to have a second option anyways.

If you don't mind Sphere (I have gotten alot of good info off this forum, time for me a give a little back.

Allenschell2 I been playin around w/irfanview as you can see from my earlier posts and was able to change bmp to jpeg.  After I finished editing the photo i did a "save as",  under the box for "file name" there is a box for "Save as type" select "JPG-JPEG files" form the list ,and then save it.  At least that worked for me, hope that what you where looking for.  Sphere feel more then free to toss in your two cents.

That infanview is a great program have been trying many different programs to find an easy why to resize photo for e-mail, Web, etc, I think I found it.

I am just fleshin out IRF..my self..so the more the merrier

what keeps the legs on that horse locked? I got the other details I think.

I wanna make a pair fer me..look handy, for the kind of stuff I do. Gonna be chipping away at my log walls, and fiting in 2''xps foam..lots odds an ends..storage I can set walkboards on is good thing!

For right now I am keeping the legs locked with a hing on both sides. The hing on the out side of the leg is set up so i can pull the pin out and then fold the legs up.  Fold the legs back out and slide the pin in and it holds pertty well,I can stand and more around on it no problem.  (see attached photo)

Thats the best I could come up with for now, tryed a bunch of different hardware I had laying around none seamed to work well.  Need to spend some time at the local hardware store and see what i can come up with.

Any suggestions guys let me know.

ok, now I get it. I didn't see the second hinge correctly.

When I whack a pair together I'll see what I can come up with..probably do the same thing, seems adequate for the job..Thanx

Thanks for the help on the photos guys, I am going to give it another shot.  I think I've got the hang of it now.  As well as your comment on the horse.

Phill; that kayak is a Guillemot based on plans by Nick Schade's http://www.guillemot-kayaks.com/Building/Guillemot/ExpSing/index.html, Just finished stripping it this weekend slow going but fun!, can't wait to hit the water with it!
