Where in NJ are you based? I'm in Woodbridge. Look me up if you ever need an estimator/PM.

I live right off of Oak Tree Road.
I hope that some day the Company will be large enough to require your services. But for right now, I just need a decent wood butcher. When all else fails, use duct tape!
Get outta here!! I'm on Worth St in Iselin!!
"It's a small world after all......." LOL
I was in 1967 Oaktree Rd today - at the Allstae office! I'm in Woodbridge too!
What type of work do you do? I'd like to talk to you and Daddoo regarding a cost study project I'm currently assembling if you're interested.
My inlaws live in Scotch Plains. My image of Oak Tree road is the corner of many Patels...Where you turn to go to the MetroPark.

Well, basically, I estimate for a living (as you may know), and the majority of my work for the past year has been commercial. I've recently started getting back into residential estimating and consulting, and I'm looking to assemble some cost data on projects in the Middlesex/Union/Monmouth County area.
I'd like to sit down with you and go over some job cost info, which I can use for future estimating. At the same time, you'd get a copy of all the data once it's compiled, for use in client budgeting/pre-qualification and estimating.
If you're interested, give me a call at 732-713-8147.

I guess it is a small world; I lived in Edison for 8 years, off Grove (south of Oak Tree). Kids went to Menlo Park School, baseball at North Ed LL on Oak Tree, etc. If you like linguini and meat sauce, the best I've ever tasted (anywhere, ever) is at Carmen's, in the Sears Hardware plaza just over the border in South Plainfield (on Oak Tree, of course). Tell Carmen the guy who buys cooler loads of sauce and brings it to upstate NY sent you.
That doesn't help you with your labor needs, but at least you know where to eat now.Be seeing you...
Tom-- I agree with you. Carmen's is a great place to eat. The food's always excellent and theres lots of it. I live in South Plainfield , but don't get there as much as I might like , largely because I don't want to gain 50 pounds<G>
Is this entire board made up of people from Middlesex County????? lol
Bob-- I guess its really not, but maybe it should be <G>
I took your advice, and went to Carmen's for dinner. Great place. Food was excellent and portions were large. Nice find. Thanks for the tip. When all else fails, use duct tape!
OOps, this reply was meant for Tom, not Dadoo.
Tom,
Where in Upstate NY? I'm in the Cooperstown area.

I'm in a Rochester 'burb. It's quite a bit different than Middlesex and Fairfield (CT) Counties, that's for sure.Be seeing you...
I know it's been almost a month since you posted your ad. What part of N.J. do you mostly work in? I have worked in the far hills area for several years. What type of work are you most often engaged in?
I own ALL my own tools, to include nailguns. I have a fairly new truck and am presentable. I have in the past worked for myself but discovered that I am a capable carpenter. A lousey business owner

Hi Robert
Most of our work is in Westfield, but we presently have jobs in Union, South Plainfield, West Orange and Livingston. If you dont mind traveling, let me know, and we will talk further.
DonWhen all else fails, use duct tape!
Daddoo,
have you or do you ever sub-out smaller aspects of your jobs. Such as stair rails, trim or decks?
I would love to be able to sub out some of the smaller stuff, and certain aspects of every project. My problem is that it is very difficult to find people who are as fanatic as I am about the quality of their work. My clients usually want the best, and I always want the best. If you fit the bill, and would like to bid on some work, or even work per diem, let me know.
I need all types of subcontractors, especially plumbing, HVAC, and roofing and siding. Union, Essex, and Middlesex Counties are my usual areas. But I have traveled as far as Cape Cod and Bermuda for Special Clients.
When your quality is excellent, cost becomes secondary. When all else fails, use duct tape!
If you ever need to send someone to Bermuda give me a call, I lived and worked there for 9 years (teaching). I can even understand Bermudanese, something that took me about 2 years to learn. No Bermuda Shorts though! Best is I can always bunk with friends and pocket - oops I mean save you - the ridiculous accommodation costs. Can you say Rum Swizzle!Let's not confuse the issue with facts!
