Hey everyone, I’m currently living and working in Anchorage AK. My wife and I are interested in moving to washinton sometime in the next few years (before our son is in school). I’m currently working for a small general contractor doing upscale remodels and additions. My responsibilities include Project management (which may not be as important as it sounds, mainly lining up subs and keeping the job going smoothly), estimating, design, and I also get lots of hours with my tool bags on. I’ve done a little timber framing, but I’m very interested in it. I make furniture in my spare time. Anyway, my point in writing all of this is to try to make some contacts with anyone in the western WA area, contractors, carpenters, I just want to get a feeling of what things are like down there. So, hopefully I get some responses. Thanks for your time. Josh. |

Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.
