We got a client who wants 1/2″ iron balisters in her stairs and landing tread mounted without the little boots that go over the bottom. This would leave us with the problem of cutting square holes. The idea we had was to try a mortising bit in a drill press, anybody had any experience with this? Thanks in advance.
