Any of that equipment can be purchased used at either places like Retool or your local rental center.
Having said that is this for a one time use or do you plan on using it for years? If it's for a one time use then pick a good one and good luck, however if you anticipate much future use I'd bite the bullet and buy new..
The reason is two fold.. rental dealers can buy for far less than retail and they try to sell in anticipation of maintinance.. add the rent they collect and you can see that often they really pay very little for equipment.
If you price some items from places like Seven Corners Hardware or Amazon you can sometimes pick up new for only a little more than the rental dealer will charge for equipment they anticipate needing maintinance soon..
I`ll sell ya mine (1 yr. old) for $500 plus $600 shipping. LOL!
Paul, in all seriousness, if you know this tool will get regular use, I would highly recomend buying new. I realize the $600 pricetag is steep, but i don`t own another toll I`d recomend so highly.

Well, I'm planning (hoping) to stay in this new business for a while, and with both rotator cuffs injured, the last few days hanging rock has convinced me to use every advantage I can get. I figure a few weeks rental and I've pretty much paid for one. Anyway, I'll shop around. Thanks as always for taking the time to reply...
Thanks Steve. I've been following that one actually, with a few days yet to go the price seems like it's gonna get higher than it should. But I'm a watchin' ;)
Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

Paul, have you tried calling your local rental shops. I was able to buy a used one there for about half of new price.
Good luck,
Shoe
I'm gonna try them Shoe, was worried that they'd be all beat to crap before they sell them, but maybe not...
worth a look - mine was in pretty decent shape - had to call a few rental places though - some wanted pretty close to new price for them

What do you consider "reasonable shipping"?
