Have to have proper transportation to rubberneck.
When I first opened the pic all I initially saw was one engine and the tail and thought, OK, DC-3.
Then scrolled and saw she's got 4 instead of 2.
What is it? I'm guessing B-17?
Nice plane.

B-17. Former sprayer. They spent about 10 years restoring it.

Where was that one stationed? Not a lot of those left in that condition.I saw a formation going up to Oshkosh, WI for the EAA Fly-in once and their low speed showed me why so many were shot down. It's too bad they couldn't have made them faster- my dad was stationed at Rougham Field in England and had a lot of friends go down in them. I still see a few of the guys who were POWs here in town and all of them have pretty severe physical damage from being in the prison camps. "I cut this piece four times and it's still too short."

It's based at Willow Run Airport, Ypsilanti MI. They had a WW2 vintage hanger until 2 yrs ago that burned to the ground. Fortunately saved the three flyers B-17, B-25 (actual combat a/c) and C-47/ DC-3. Mike
