Yellow flexible gas pipe limitations
Are there known code limitations requiring this material to be located in exposed locations only? My concern is damage to the material if a screw or nail penetrates the pipe if concealed behind sheetrock or other finished surfaces. Is protection required by code such as steel plate or minimum distance from the finished surface?

CSST Gas Pipe
CSST (Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing) gas pipe requires protection plates where it is run through framing members (usually) within 1 1/4" from the edge of a framing member.
The type, thickness, and length of protection plates is manufacturer specific.
You typically need to install protection plates manufactured by the gas pipe supplier.
You need to install the protection plates in accordance with the instructions specific to the pipe manufacturer.
