Hi,
I have a question regarding the use of the Zinc strip placed under the
ridge cap shingle. I am going to re-shingle after 10 years of use on
the old shingles because of an addition. The new Timberline shingles no
longer have the zinc imbedded in the shingle, but I could buy the zinc
strips. I am wondering if the zinc is worth the money since it has been
removed from new shingles. The existing shingles looks like the
previous owner used a roof rake, but I know he didn’t. So was it a
fungus that made the old shingles look dingy? I have Norway Pine Trees
very close to my house roof.
Thanks for any insight you can provide!!
