Zip R Sheathing with no tape and Tyvek Drainwrap

Ok, so an architect friend of mine recommended that I install Zip R Sheathing without the tape (because it’s so expensive and can fail) and then put Tyvek Drainwrap on top.
Does this seem like a good option to people?
FYI it is a new house with 2×4 studs, Hardiplank side with a cor a vent rainscreen.

That is a really stupid idea. First the GBC and university of Texas have shown that Zip tape, when properly installed won't fail. You can also go with liquid flash instead of tape if you wish. Why would you used zip R sheathing and scrimp on the tape or liquid flash. Tape is about $27/roll and 20 rolls should do a 3000 ft house. So your are talking less than $500 total. The tape or liquid flash will be much less than the house wrap. House wrap is a lousy air barrier (as would the Zip without any sealing) so you are defeating the purpose of the base materials.
It always pays to double up things. I always wear two hats when it rains.
