If you need to drill holes in a drywall ceiling, you could just go ahead and do it, let the dust fall where it does, and then clean it up later, but there’s a better way.
Peter Desmond of Chicago, Ill., was tired of being showered with drywall dust every time he had to drill a hole in a drywall ceiling. So he enlisted the help of an old basketball to contain the falling dust and debris.

I use a garbage can lid, same effect. However, with the garbage can lid you get a larger area covered, this is good for larger holes as well as it provides an area to attach a dust collection hose. Use a clean lid please.
