Mitering Outside Baseboard Corners
Once you've coped the inside baseboard corner to make a perfect joint, it's time to fit, measure, and place the outside corner.
Once the long piece is coped in place and the inside corner of the baseboard is perfect, it’s time to miter the outside corner. Watch carpenter Tucker Windover install baseboard in this gem from the Fine Homebuilding Video Vault. First, he starts with the adjacent corner. Tucker checks for fit; measures, marks, and cuts the butt piece; glues it in place; and finally, nails the corner home.
