Homemade Paint Strainer
All you need is an old drywall bucket and a scrap of window screen to save valuable leftover paint without the danger of it mucking up your walls.
When doing a lot of painting, bits of debris from the job site can find their way into the paint, and ultimately onto the ceiling, walls, and trim. In this gem from the Fine Homebuilding video archives, Chuck Miller shares a tip from professional painter Bob Simpson of Cottage City, Md. Bob made some simple modifications to a plastic spackle bucket lid and added some window screen to make a paint strainer that he uses daily to keep debris out of the paint and away from his finish.
