Long Electrical Runs in Closed Walls
Long drill bits can eliminate plaster tearout when rewiring old construction.
It takes some practice, but as Cliff Popejoy, a Sacramento, California, electrical contractor, demonstrates in this video, 6-ft. flexible drill bits make updating old wiring a little easier when you don’t have to punch and repatch a hole every other stud.
This technique works on the ceiling, too, and you can learn more about it by reading Cliff’s article, Retrofitting Recessed Lights.
