Cool fireplace built by mason Lew French
Big stone fireplaces tend to be monolithic, unless they’re the creation of Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., mason Lew French. French’s definition of rock leaps from boulder to pebble to ledge and beyond. Given free rein by the homeowners, French created a fireplace incorporating lichen-encrusted fieldstone, reclaimed stone slabs, and driftwood stacked as sensibly-and as randomly-as if it had occurred in nature. Along the way, French reinterpreted classic fireplace elements, from display niches to a detached hearth.

Love Lew French's work...especially the use of the driftwood.

Does Lew French do work off Island?
Beautiful Job.
Mr. Lew French , beautiful work!I seen one of your out door patios -amazing , the passion shows . Your random rubble mixed with the slabs -brilliant. A building made in that style with cornice , green men , & elements of architecture would rock!I'd love to help. [email protected]
