The client had two goals for their hall bathroom remodel: aesthetically integrate the bathroom with the modernized Mission style they had created in the rest of the house, while keeping in mind that the bathroom had to work well for their grandchildren and guests when they came to visit.
The existing finishes were standard 1970’s yellow-hued tile and vinyl floor and the vanity was in disrepair. Despite the sizable skylight over the tub, the lighting poorly filled the space, creating a cramped and dreary atmosphere. The sliding shower door made it difficult for the owners to bathe their young grandchildren in the tub.
