The remodel of the original 1965 kitchen was pretty much complete. The old stove, 2nd oven, sink, counter-tops, flooring, backsplash, and lighting were replaced. I made all the cabinets in a local community college woodworking program. Solid cherry cabinet and drawer fronts with raised panel doors with cherry plywood carcases. I had help with the floorplan from a kitchen designer and with color choices, etc., from an interior designer. I designed all the cabinets and other workspaces, including the island.
