Welcome to “the Money Pit”. Water supply to the old toilet broke off in wall 2 months after taking title to the house, flooding the bedroon below. Tore the miniscus in my left knee leaping over two 275 gal oil tanks to get to the main water shutoff. Started the demo 2 weeks after repair of the knee and christened the shower 90 days later.

Inch thick mortar on expanded metal lath all around. They really built stuff to last in the olden days. What fun that was!

Had to figure out how to convvert this 22" deep linen closet into a barrier-free shower for a mother-in-law.

Waterproof vanity is site built, also out of Wedi board supporting a limestone top and tiled. Accessories were built out of highly figured "reject" teak . Electric radient heat in floor and behind mirror.

Used Wedi board and tumbled limestone to make it into a "wet room" with half the shower in the former linen closet. Floor drain is about 22" from back wall. Splash shield protects entry door and hinges from water.
