This is a kitchen project undertaken for a special client – my dear aunt Caroline. We designed and built everything from scratch. The countertop is slate tile. The island is marble. The floors are new and solid maple. The cabinets are painted baltic birch ply. The pull-out pantry is completely custom built for that space. We worked out a way to eliminate the backsplash behind the sink so as not to obscure views out of the (oddly sized) window.
This project was completed entirely by a group of budding designer/builder types in their mid-20s over a period of 4 weeks.
