Our house (built in 1975) needed a refresh in the main bathroom. The lighting fixtues were original, the wallpaper and the popcorn ceiling dated, the ceiling had water damage and, in general, we just needed an upgrade. We decided we didn’t have the money or the time to do a major overhaul so we aimed for a realistic job – retain the original ceramic tile and vanity, remove the popcorn from the ceiling and repair the water damage, replace the lighting, ceiling fan/light, mirror, faucet and other fixtures with more modern and contemporary units and replace the flooring. We picked a wall color that seemed to mesh nicely with the existing color elements. We did all the work except for installing the new vinyl flooring. Total cost was a bit less than $900. We like it!
