The ensuite bathroom of our 1970s home was badly overdue for an updating. The shower had been renovated a few years previously, but it was time to do the rest.
We looked at factory cabinets, but couldn’t find anything quite right so I thought I’d take a crack at making these Craftsman style cabinets myself. We also wanted to avoid the carbon footprint of solid countertops and so were very happy to find a laminate we both liked. I like the look of a tile backsplash to finish laminate counters and find this travertine tile to work well.

Flagstone finish Flexitec floor.
After: I made the cabinets (my first) to fit the available space. They are red chestnut stained flame maple with a Minwax wipe-on poly. I think they turned out pretty nice.
After: New beveled glass and hidden hinges updates the medicine cabinet and a tiled backsplash finishes the laminate counter.
