This is our kitchen remodel that spanned 6 years. We started in 2003 on our 1960’s ranch style kitchen and had made pretty good progress by 2006. Then we had a big flood from a burst pipe while we were on vacation. Back to square one only this time in rapid mode. I designed and built pretty much everything in this kitchen and did all the work myself except lay the linoleum. I veneered all the cabinet parts the hard way by purchasing veneer, splicing it and laminating it. I fabricated all the back splashes and the countertops which are concrete, end grain butcher block or stained particle board. The whole project cost us less than $10,000.
