I installed a high grade Armstrong laminate floor, the one with beveled and visible joints, but after 6-12 months in the dry Colorado climate it began to squeak loudly at the joint butts. A liberal spary with Liquid Wrench Silicone Spray does the trick, just be sure to wipe up the slippery floor with good cleaner after the LW soaks in.

Great idea so long as you are not planing on painting anything significant in your house... that stuff gets on everything and shows up years later as fish-eye on fresh paint. I had that problem while refinishing a kitchen, it was a nightmare.
