We recently remodeled our kitchen. Architects Adrienne Winner and Roseanne McGrath designed the layout, but my wife designed the island and I built it (cherry with walnut inlays). The top is recycled glass (Vetrazzzo Alehouse Amber with patina). Top is keyhole shaped – 8′ long 2′ wide with a 46″ diameter seating area at the end. The kitchen isn’t huge but the island allows ample storage space (6 -24″ wide drawers) with plenty of room to move on either side.
