I'm sure that the work is excellent but, gee, the scale and shade of the piece for the room seems a bit heavy.
It looks like there are a lot of brads shot into this thing
It seams to be made of low grade plywood, with a lot of tack on stuff. Not spectacular to my eye for 35 yrs expperience. I built something like this before I had the equiptment to do it nice.
The workmanship looks meticulous and detailed. However, I have to agree with gsmyth about the design and colour being too “heavy” and might just turn out to be old-fashioned. Nevertheless, like you mentioned you are still in the starting stage, hence I am certain you will work something out to look amazing. I can still recall my estate agent showed me a house with a similar piece of furniture but I guess I was just not keen in the concept.
