Our newly built (2006) home came with a “bump-out” or niche in the living area specifically designed for an entertainment system. We originally put a large entertainment armoir in the space, but it seemed ill-suited to our design direction. Ultimately, my wife agreed to purchase a new big-screen TV only if I first installed a built-in entertainment center. The final design was my wife’s, and reflects the Craftsman style that we love, and compliments the fireplace surround, that I also built, to its immediate left.
