The homeowner was looking for somewhere cheerful to do a dreary task – paying bills. With a large double window, the laundry room was a diamond in the rough. We painted the walls a lively periwinkle blue and installed a lime green bamboo patterned countertop. The base cabinet was added to the right of the seating area. The file cabinet unit features custom paper slots for filing mail and an upper cabinet that matches the existing cabinetry. The two small drawers at the bottom are a bonus that holds dog treats, a dog brush and a leash. The open area below the cabinet is sized to hold the dog’s kennel and dishes.
What was once a ho-hum laundry room was livened up with color and custom cabinetry that creatively accommodates the home office and much needed additional storage. This is a cheerful room to do both the laundry and pay bills.
Countertops were modified and file drawers were added to create a home office within an existing laundry room. The dog’s kennel and dishes were carefully located below the file drawers.
