The rain and snow were miserable until we added this shed roof over the back door. We wanted it to look original to the house, and used slavaged slate roof tiles, reclaimed magohony beams and douglas fir beadboard, and had a local metalworker make the copper flashing. The whole structure is bolted to the house with a hidden 100 lb. stainless steel bracket. Total time to build = 5 full weekends, but we are now dry.
