Architectural interest was added to this ranch through an attached shed and gable dormer addition. Steep roofs are a Nantucket style. The trim was sized to match the existing house. Dewing & Schmid were the architects. I did a lot of the structural, the electrical and the HVAC myself. R50 roof insulation was used with oversized attic venting

I am adding an addition to the rear of a ranch. I want to put a shed roof on my addition and tie it into the existing roof. What is the best way to tie in my new rafters to the existing roof.
