These are renovations I made to the front of my home on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. I am an amateur.
Made and installed pedaments over ground floor windows to hide roll-down sunblinds. Lowered ceiling to entrance to improve proportions, made and installed crosshead and pilasters to front entrance.
Renovated the dormers by removing existing layers of rotted, painted plywood sheathing and trim, re-sheathing with plywood, wrapping in tar paper, installation of casings I had pre-assembled in my shop (inspired by Mike Vacirca article in Fine Homebuilding Sept. 2009), installation of trim (note curved top trim under dormer roof) and Hardiplank. All horizontal trim and casing protected by flashings formed on-site. All surfaces primed and painted with 3 coats of exterior paint.
