I have too many broken tapes to be proud of. In this day of toss and turn, I used the clips from the old tape measure case and screw them to the usual “hand only” tools. When you need to clip something to your belt, especially when you are up on a ladder, it works great. This photo shows a clip attached to my chalk line case. Works great on stud finders and other useful hand items too.
