Recently I purhased a Festool mitre saw and vacuum. From that i designed a combination router table and mitre saw stand. The design was done with Visio. The project was built using Baltic birch plywood for both the frame and the external pieces.
The router design includes:
4″ vacuum port from box below router
vacuum port from fence that is attached to the 4″ port
magnetic door to enclose box
gromet on door to provide fresh air to vacuum
external plug / switch to control router
imbedded JessEm router table
fence mounted on T-slot tracks
Miter saw design includes:
table on T-slot tracks to allow for adjustment
table can be raised to the same level as the router table to provide work surface
saw attached using imbedded 1/4″ bolts – removable to provide flat work surface
vacuum garage below the saw
table and fence of saw matches remainder of table. Includes fence of router table.
In the end, i know this is not exactly what you are looking for as it also includes an integrated router table. However, you may find it interesting.
Thanks
David

Saw is attached to table with bolt down hardware that can be removed. Fence of saw lines up with router fence. Also, table for saw is level with bench.

Wow, what a great idea, one table for multiple purposes. Would it be possible that I can get the visio file. I too use visio to design all of my projects.

David,
I love your plan, it is exactly what I want. I too just purchased a Festool Miter saw.
What is VISO and where can I get a copy of the plans?
