Tear down 700K to build 1.2K
The Kissel Project
Architect: Crossroads Blue Sky
Originally, this prime corner lot in Lake Bluff IL. had a large 100 yr. old Victorian house on it that needed (everything) a lot of work.
In fact, the value of just the house only was around 125K.
So, the new owners leveled the old house, which had tiny rooms, and built this large shingle style house.
For the last 10 years, approx. 1 out of every 10 permits in this area was for a tear down and rebuilding a shingle style home or french county mansion.
A high end remodeler’s dream. Not anymore. At least for awhile.
The people in this North Shore town stay here and rebuild because they are all like family. Everybody knows everyone and, you have to come and see the community 4th of July parade.
