This building was born out of a fire. In 2004, an old (1917) Adirondack lodge burned to the ground. The challenge was to replace it, paying homage to its turn-of-the-20th-century style while incorporating 21st-century features, and to make it green enough to be worthy of the wilderness that surrounds it.
This compact detatched accessory dwelling has an efficient layout with a vaulted ceiling that enhances the sense of space.
