A client, Tom Morrow, build this new shed-sized pole barn for his Vermont homestead. The loft, proportions, details and red paint make it fit in with traditional barns and outbuildings in the area. It fits a lawn tractor and yard tools, just like any other shed, but there’s more high-and-dry storage space in the loft.
According to Tom, “A local contractor who was familiar with pole barns put it up for us. We were very pleased with his work. It has a metal roof and is sided with local shiplap lumber. The footings used the bigfoot system. Here in Addison County the soil is almost all clay so the bigfoot plastic cones and sonotubes let us keep all of the PT wood out of the wet soil.”
“Thanks for a great looking barn. My wife Pat and I are very happy with it and proud of the barn as it now stands.”
All I had to do was to draw the thing. Tom and his contractor did all of the work.
