At Fine Homebuilding's first project house, this is the front of the garage that we are converting to warm, livable shop space.
One carriage door (built by Justin Fink) is installed, the other is inside the shop leaning against a wall.
We removed the double-wide overhead door and reduced the size of the opening, adding the windows and carriage door(s).
Justin built these carriage doors in the woodshop. Look for the weekly Wrap-up video shot in the Fine Woodworking woodshop to see the construction process.

Beautiful doors; definitely worth the effort. Nice job! Man, I wish I had a dedicated shop instead of my two-car garage, which serves as temporary shop all spring and summer. Come winter in Michigan, tools recede to corners and cars replace wood shop. Can't wait for spring.
Regards,
Bob
