music room
I wanted to create a room where I could create. The little studio office and music room became my refuge and my favorite room. Whether belting out Tom Petty songs, or practicing guitar, I was at home. I tried to make filing tuck away (rolling filing cabinets w/ doug fir veneer) under the window seat and the little bar hidden in the bookcase. The bookcases were once where my office was. I cleared it out to clean up and move just before these pictures were taken. I had the leather seats made locally and made curtains (not shown) which hung from a painted rebar curtain rod. I had fun with the place. The concrete floor was painted. The casework was all douglas fir (solid faceframes and panels of veneer) with linseed oil rubb. I consulted FH to get insight on the woodwork (especially the finish). I wanted modern with a bit of the French proportion I loved from Louisiana. Mas tequila and good friends wine and music – the things I remeber from the place.
